Gin Blossoms, for me, produced the quintessential sounds of 90s alternative rock.
At age 40, I’ve sung the band’s praises for nearly three decades now. Despite many attempts to work it out, I have yet to see them live. That will thankfully change next month, as my family will follow them down for an outdoor performance here in the northern suburbs of Atlanta, GA. It will be my kids’ first concert of note, and I couldn’t be more jazzed to share it with them.
Notable Summer 2025 Shows & Tours
For fans of 90s Alternative & Pop Rock, the following is a list of some upcoming events to know about across the United States this summer. Why not start with the Gin Blossoms?
Gin Blossoms & Blues Traveler with Spin Doctors - Kicking off in style on July 4 at Red Rocks (Colorado), the trio of 90s hitmakers will travel across the country through mid-September.
Dave Matthews Band - Playing 26 cities in total this summer, including a stop in Toronto and Brazil, DMB set sail in Bethel, New York on May 24.
Barenaked Ladies: “Last Summer on Earth Tour” - Headlining this tour annually since 2012, Barenaked Ladies will be at it again beginning June 3 in Atlanta, GA. Fastball will support them for the duration of the two-month excursion. Guster will join for all June shows. Sugar Ray will climb aboard for the second half.
Summer Unity Tour - I had the privilege to see Collective Soul in concert last September, and let me tell you, they can still rock. The multi-platinum rockers from Atlanta will be joined by +LIVE+, Our Lady Peace, and Greylin James Rue for 30 dates throughout July and August.
Prep Playlist
I’ve taken the time to set up an essential playlist that includes all the bands from above. You can find it on YouTube Music here: Nate Spins ‘90s Alt. Prep Playlist. It’s part of the soundtrack to my childhood. Listen along with me, won’t you?
Dude. Gin Blossoms are our hometown guys. Jesse lived in my neighborhood for a short time. I've seen them at sold-out stadiums and tiny little shopping mall greens. Great shows every time.
