Great picks all around. Great pithy write up. I can’t argue with the choices, especially when you limited yourself to 5! Thank you!

Appreciate it. I could've gone to so many more, but had to limit myself.

I know by this time Brian wasn't involved directly as much, but I would have to say that the combination of both Sunflower/Surf's Up are the ones for me.

''Til I Die' is a masterpiece tucked away like a secret weapon, and one that forever moves me with its haunting other-worldliness.

God Only Knows is without doubt a masterpiece.. But, with the loss of Brian I find myself returning to the glorious double bill of 'Til I Die' / 'Surf's Up'.

Rest In Peace, Brian.

A beautiful remembery, Nate! "I Get Around" is my fave Brian song. In fact, my all-time Top 3 (never in any order...it's like they're all tied for 1st!): "I Get Around," The Ronettes' "Be My Baby," and The Beatles' "She Loves You."

I'll link this into our Tune Tag this Tuesday....otherwise, I'd love to cross-post it; but, timing being what it is, we'll have this just thumb a ride in the Tune Tag Taxi, Tuesday!

Brian would've loved that serendipity!

My pleasure, Nate, although it's a shame any of us had to write our Brian tributes....but, 'twas inevitable at some point!

I took my four sons to their first concerts: ZZ Top, Nirvana, The Offspring and the youngest’s was Brian Wilson and his Band, doing Pet Sounds in its entirety, and other hits. I agree with your choices, except I would substitute two of them for, In My Room, and Fun, Fun, Fun.

Great memories, I'm sure. Love those Beach Boys tunes as well. I saw The Offspring back in mid-2000s, great fun. I'll be seeing Gin Blossoms this evening in my hometown for my three sons' first concerts.

Well done! Thanks for sharing. As I’m reading, I’m thinking about how so many people loved Good Vibrations on a surface level, “feel good” vibe (which we should all do), without really studying the song, which is a genius vision and composition.

For sure. It's nothing short of a pop symphony
